Solace

Concrete steps and mint chip ice-cream
Warm nights simmer my skin to heat
Starlit, but shy was the ceiling above
Crickets humming away distinctly.
Unsteadily heart, beats both fast then slowly
The street lamps glow amber and fiery lit
Mellowly a voice, gently whispers distantly
A secret shattering laughter that drifts so closely
In this sleepless night
Among lurking silhouettes
Embracing the other side of me
