You're leaving a place you've always known all along,
So maybe the roads won't be the same, wherever you be at
But your heart retains the love and remembrance
To remind you of home.
For wherever you may be,
Whatever soil your feet touches,
The world is your home,
& it is not yours alone.

Reflect
Stare into the purple waves,
& pull your thoughts from your sleeve,
Embrace-
Serenity sings blues
But oceans never freeze
Rather, they light your soul on fire.
& pull your thoughts from your sleeve,
Embrace-
Serenity sings blues
But oceans never freeze
Rather, they light your soul on fire.

Merry goes around
A merry go round.
Like the wheel of a cyclist.
You keep circling around seeking.
Circling around, but you're moving.
Ahead and ahead as the it turns.
Blue sky is your favorite,
But you anticipate it grey
Because you miss running in the rain
Like the wheel of a cyclist.
You keep circling around seeking.
Circling around, but you're moving.
Ahead and ahead as the it turns.
Blue sky is your favorite,
But you anticipate it grey
Because you miss running in the rain
What a feeling.
Your heart is burning.
Like it does every time you hear
His delicious laughter.
Feel that?
Put your hand on your chest.
Please tell me you still feel that.
Your heart is burning.
Like it does every time you hear
His delicious laughter.
Feel that?
Put your hand on your chest.
Please tell me you still feel that.
You hope this feeling never goes away...

Syria
In the midst of school and everything that has been going on, I completely overlooked the recent situation in Syria. In fact, I'd seen the images so often that I'd even quickly glance, uninterested at nothing new in development.
This evening I stumbled on a horrifying video. A mother calmly praying, over the dead body of her son. She kissed the feet of her dead son (a paradox, as Islam teaches that heaven lies under the feet of our mothers), and sought mercy from the Almighty. I was so moved to tears, angered by the injustices and naturally started regretting the times I had apathetically and uninterestedly skipped every article on the Syrian uprising. The image of the video still haunts me.
The world has a way of breaking your heart.

The world has a way of breaking your heart.
But the only way to mend it is to love more.
I believe in the power of prayers, and I pray for an end to the peoples' suffering and for justice to be rightfully served.
InshaAllah.
There is the need to publicly pressure and denounce the regime right now. How easy it is to turn a blind eye and be 'bored' of the same issues....it is really shameful.

Shadow
When moving your way ahead,
Do not let your shadow distract you,
It will follow you,
Such, as it always has been.
The shadow in no way, will affect the way you walk-
It shouldn't.
Unless you allow it to.
Do not let your shadow distract you,
It will follow you,
Such, as it always has been.
The shadow in no way, will affect the way you walk-

yours, in me
it need not be,
although it shall become
when mine is yours
& fate leaves some
it needs, not be,
yet, time will let us see.
for yours in my palm,
together, in between
although it shall become
when mine is yours
& fate leaves some
it needs, not be,
yet, time will let us see.
for yours in my palm,
together, in between

Flower petals
The petal of a flower that blossoms in spring,
Is its own strength and weakness, the same
For beauty lures bees sweetly for nectar,
Yet, seduction is a game she plays in vain
The bumblebee she teases & tries to cave,
Neglecting her dignity herself, she enslaves.

Neglecting her dignity herself, she enslaves.
