There were 9 of us. We stood in a circle, cups filled with Sprite. In pretense of maturity, I laughed at the thought of how immature we really were. We were toasting to success and happiness of our future. With plastic clear cups and fizzy drinks, I was overwhelmed with so many emotions.
Maybe that was a symbolic moment for me.
Among the girls who I desperately want to have with me in my future.
That was probably a defining moment.
The moment when I looked around the faces in the circle,
And realized we were all transitioning into a new beginning.
We were leaving behind our childhood.
Taking with us our memories
And transitioning into womanhood.
