After taste

I cannot tell if this is bitterness gone sweet
Or sweetness turned bitter
Your words leave my tongue repulsed like a morning after taste
They echo in my ear-
Muting the drone of the busy streets

& although the heaviness has shrugged-
Off the slump of my shoulder
I can tell you that what stale forgiveness once remained
Has stirred into sourness
