Lines

Re-write a story told in your head a hundred times. The same story when penned down will have more meaning. But will it lose its original meaning?

I am not the lines of words I've put down. Nor am I how you interpret me. & believe me when I say, that there is more to me than what you think you've understood from reading between lines.
Everything in your way casts a shadow
But where there is shadow, there must be light.
There we stand at a different time, at the same place, facing the self we once tried to hide. So desperately we try to grasp, so we never lose ourselves again

Harvest

A forest, and rustling leaves
No footprints, for the earth is dry
But footsteps that accompany-
And a heartbeat,
Syncopated and out of tune
To my breath, that inhales cold
Into the core of my lungs

Leaves change
& so have I.
I have aged a year older
Like another layer of bark,
That circles the Japanese maple trunk.

But I am not different,
For like the roots that remained,
I have stayed
On the same ground,
Even though the skies
have changed.

On missing

I miss you in ways you will never understand. In ways where missing goes beyond the existence of the word. If you take the letters away that spell "miss", I miss you that much. But will it mean anything to you, if the word "miss" goes missing, anyway?

Shore

How the zigzag island in the distance,
Tarnish a horizon
The salt water I taste
on the tip of my bottom lip
I carry my sandals
& a line of thought between my fingertips
As sand kiss the bottom of my feet
My breath frees like the pigeon & breeze

carousel

faith spins like a carousel
but I am blinded by bright lights
dizzied by the spinning of words overused

hide, and lie
we see into and through
desperate to realign,
my life and you
